Framing Details by Print Size
Each framed piece from the Scott Rinckenberger Gallery is meticulously finished using archival-quality materials and museum-level craftsmanship. To ensure a visually balanced and elegant presentation, we use different frame mouldings depending on the size of the print.
What Varies by Size
To complement the scale of each image, we tailor the frame style and thickness accordingly.
-
15x20 Prints feature a thinner ebony-stained walnut frame. The darker tone and refined profile enhance smaller prints without overpowering them.
-
20x30 and larger (20x30, 24x36, 32x48, 40x60) are framed in a charcoal-stained alder, selected for its slightly thicker moulding that provides visual weight and balance to larger works.
Both options are designed with aesthetic integrity in mind and are chosen to best support the scale and impact of each print.
Consistent Gallery-Quality Materials
Regardless of size or frame type, every piece includes:
-
Hand-stained hardwood frame
-
Archival 8-ply cotton rag mat board
-
Acid-free foam core mounting
-
Tru-Vue Museum Glass for exceptional clarity and 99% UV protection
These are the same materials and methods used in Scott Rinckenberger's gallery installations, ensuring every framed print is ready for long-term display and enjoyment.
Visual Comparison

Why Frame Styles Vary
This intentional variation isn’t just about size—it’s about design. Thinner frames suit smaller works, allowing the image to shine without overwhelming it. Larger prints demand more presence, which is why we use a slightly thicker moulding for sizes 20x30 and up. Every choice is made to achieve the most refined and balanced look.
