Forest Abides

Forest Abides is a collection of portraits from the logged forests of the Snoqualmie Valley — old-growth stumps, each a survivor of a century and a half of extraction, now quietly nurturing new generations of trees. Through these images, Scott Rinckenberger explores what it means to endure: how moss, roots, and time transform sites of loss into cradles of regeneration. This is not a eulogy for what was taken, but a testament to what persists when the land is given space to heal — and a call to protect that possibility. Read Scott's full artist statement →
