Stories That Reach Beyond the Gallery
The student-produced Overlake project became part of a larger PBS Student Reporting Labs story that aired nationally on PBS NewsHour. The feature explored Scott's The Forest Abides collection and his perspective on regeneration, environmental storytelling, and hope.
Backcountry Magazine closed out their 2026 Photo Annual with a profile by Noah Willson sharing Scott's journey from professional Freeskier to fine art photographer to environmental advocate.
"His role as an artist is not only to share the beauty of these places, but also to be at the forefront of raising the alarm around ways in which the environment is being compromised, damaged or desecrated... It all ties to giving back. Realizing the significance of Earth's gifts, from what we eat, to where we play."
Students from The Overlake School's media production program visited Scott's North Bend gallery to create a profile of his work. Scott later returned to the school for ArtsFest to speak with Upper School students about creativity, career paths, failure, and finding an artistic voice.
