Art Through Adventure the Workshop is designed around one key premise. The idea that if we put the right team of people together, we’ll create an environment for learning, growing and kindling relationships that is incredibly enjoyable, vastly informative and deeply inspiring. This isn’t about teaching photography, it’s about creating a space for the expansion of the mind and body, and the breaking down of limitations and barriers.
To that end I reached out to two of the most accomplished ski guides in the Northwest to lead the safety and movement aspects of the workshop.
Then I reached out to two of the most inspiring athletes I’ve had the pleasure to know. Today I want to shine a spotlight on the recent accomplishments of these special people.
Max Djenohan, not satisfied to retire from the survival game after 7 successful seasons on the show Naked and Afraid, is back at it in the new USA Network show Race to Survive Alaska. If you’ve seen Max’s previous reality challenges, you’ll have seen him not only survive, but thrive and laugh his way through some of earth’s most hostile environments.
Speaking of which, Max is freshly back in the States after last week’s successful ascent of Aconcagua, the tallest peak in the Americas at 22,838 ft. Max has already successfully snowboarded from the summit of Denali, and has summited Kilimanjaro, which puts him well on his way toward climbing the seven summits.

Meanwhile, Krystin Norman has been cementing her place on the K2 International Pro team as the face behind the Dispatch free tour ski collection. Krystin’s incredible skill and fitness on the way up, and her confident, flawless form on the way down is the perfect representation of the new style of human-powered charging that is redefining skiing.
But Krystin isn’t just a great skier. She’s a hero in opening doors for communities who have historically not felt included in the winter sports culture. Her drive to change the landscape has everything to do with her amazing family story, which is currently featured in the Ski Journal, and in the award winning film, Nexus.
When I imagine growing as an artist and an athlete, I realize that it’s all about the people with whom I surround myself. People who are inspiring, innovative, hard working, joyful and open to new experiences. With these special partners, comes the capacity to build amazing things on a foundation of gratitude and a mindset of endless learning. I welcome you to join us in this pursuit in Art Through Adventure the Workshop.
