Oak Fern Colony: 24x36 Limited Edition Print

Gymnocarpium dryopteris - The individual plants grow at spaced intervals along the long rhizomes and usually grow in large colonies. The dense stands formed by the colonies can serve as protective cover for forest wildlife.  Given the common name, ironically, this species does not grow on or near oak trees.
